In the sunlight, we always feel energized and brightened. Science has proven that natural light promotes the secretion of serotonin, a key hormone that brings vitality and happiness. At the same time, natural light boosts the body's metabolism, stimulates brain activity, and helps make thinking clearer and learning more efficient.

And now, even indoors, we can replicate this "effect of sunlight" – improved alertness, faster learning, enhanced problem-solving accuracy, and overall optimization of learning efficiency – through lighting technology that precisely reproduces the natural light spectrum.

Problem-solving accuracy improved by 5%, speed accelerated by 3.2 times

In 2021, Harvard Medical School in the United States conducted a prestigious study focusing on the relationship between lighting and cognitive function. The experiment involved 39 university students performing problem-solving tasks under conventional lighting (3000K/5000K) and natural light spectrum lighting (3000K/5000K), systematically comparing the performance of both groups.

As a result, it was found that in a high-intensity natural light spectrum lighting environment of 5000K, subjects achieved up to 5% higher problem-solving accuracy and 3.2 times faster speed compared to conventional lighting. This experiment demonstrated the positive impact of natural light-like illumination on cognitive abilities from multiple perspectives, including accuracy, response speed, and error rate.

Sleep onset efficiency improved by 1.3 times, waking efficiency accelerated by 1.8 times

In 2018, Seoul National University College of Medicine conducted a study on sleep. Thirty-four healthy adults aged 20-49 participated in the experiment, where multiple physiological indicators related to sleep were monitored under conventional lighting and natural light spectrum lighting.

Through analysis of electrocardiograms and autonomic nervous system activity, it was confirmed that after using natural light spectrum lighting, the subjects' sleep onset speed at night improved by 1.3 times, and their waking speed in the morning accelerated by 1.8 times. The study also demonstrated that this lighting technology helps balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, improving overall sleep quality. Subjects also reported a significant reduction in eye strain and blurred vision.

Natural light promotes a heightened state of alertness.

In 2019, the University of Basel in Switzerland published a study on the effects of natural light LEDs on human physiological rhythms and daytime function. The experiment involved multi-faceted monitoring of 15 healthy subjects aged 19-35, systematically evaluating the impact of lighting conditions on daytime alertness.

According to measurements of the sleepiness index (Karolinska Sleepiness Scale), subjects in the natural light spectrum lighting environment experienced a significant reduction in sleepiness between 11 AM and 7 PM, maintaining a high state of alertness throughout the day. Additionally, this study demonstrated that natural light spectrum lighting contributes to maintaining a healthy melatonin rhythm, improving emotional state, and enhancing visual comfort.

Multiple international studies collectively show that lighting technology mimicking the natural light spectrum not only enhances the efficiency and accuracy of learning and problem-solving in terms of cognition but also helps regulate the sleep-wake cycle and improve circadian rhythms, thereby exerting dual positive effects on both academic performance and physiological health.
